Age Friendly Louth

ADAPT Research Centre was delighted to take part in the first Age Friendly Louth event of 2025, held at the Gallery Meeting Room in the Louth County Council Civic Offices, Drogheda. This event provided an opportunity for older adults in the community to explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an engaging and accessible way.

The session introduced AI to beginners, explaining its role in everyday life and highlighting both its benefits and challenges. Researchers from ADAPT showcased their ongoing projects, demonstrating AI’s potential in creative and practical applications. Attendees had the chance to interact with AI-generated images and text, sparking discussions on the intersection of technology and the arts.

Paula Kelly, alongside fellow researchers Dr. Emma Clarke, Peterson Jean, led the presentation. Their work emphasized co-creation, ensuring that discussions about AI include the voices and experiences of older adults.

The Age Friendly AI project encourages active participation from older adults, community groups, policymakers, and technology companies. By fostering conversations about AI’s role in society, ADAPT aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world impact.
